Computer Laptop Donation Project

How you can help

The Lowcountry Digital Equity Coalition, in partnership with Palmetto Goodwill, seeks  to provide 2000 laptops to K-12 students in Title 1 schools in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester County.

The goal of the project is to help achieve South Carolina’s Digital Equity Plan’s device availability goal that every resident of South Carolina can access a desktop or laptop computer at home or in an accessible location.

This is only possible with the support of our corporate partners donating their used laptops to us to be refurbished for the students.

Strategic partnerships lead to success

To help achieve this goal, LDEC is inviting tri-county area businesses to donate surplus laptops to the coalition. Palmetto Goodwill will refurbish donated laptops and provide a new hard drive made possible by generous funding provided by Comcast.

LDEC will be coordinating with schools to distribute the laptops at their school events. More details will be posted here and via the LDEC LinkedIn Page.

Next Steps:

Once your form is submitted, an LDEC representative will confirm receipt and make the arrangements for pick-up or drop-off of the donated laptops, whichever is preferable to your organization.
