Are you passionate about ensuring everyone in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester County has the information technology capacity necessary for civic participation, employment, and access to essential services? Consider becoming a member of the Lowcountry Digital Equity Coalition:
The Lowcountry Digital Equity Coalition (LDEC) is a regional partnership, responsible for setting and conducting the strategic priorities of South Carolina counties (Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester) on matters related to digital inclusion, equity and justice for all residents and community-based entities. LDEC membership includes representatives from various industries including:
- Community-based nonprofits, human service providers or neighborhood units
- Internet Service Providers and Technology Companies
- Digital Learning Entities: Libraries, School Districts, Universities, literacy agencies
- Government, economic development, and workforce development authorities
- Funders, Evaluators, and investors in digital equity.
What We Do:
The LDEC seeks to coordinate and initiate collective digital inclusion activities that are guided by shared goals and proximate quantitative and qualitative community data. There are no costs or legal obligations to join and members are free to withdraw at any point.

Joining is easy:
- Send us an email or message via the “Join” form saying that you’d like to join and include the following information: your name, organization, and your primary contact information.
- We will get in touch with you to set up an introductory call to talk about your interest in joining and how we can work together.
- We will send your staff a welcome email with logistical next steps for onboarding, such as providing your logo for the LDEC website.
